The Blacksmith allows you to improve your equipment and obtain crafting materials by dismantling unwanted gear. The materials gained from dismantling can then be used to enhance other equipment pieces.
You can now see which item is equipped to which hero and track its refinement and enhancement progress—and there is much more to come!
Types of Icon Equipment
Item icons reworked to indicate refinement potential and item type:
- Standard: No special icon.
- Unique: Star icon.
- Set: Cards icon.
Dismantling
Dismantling melts your equipment into crafting materials. The original item is destroyed in the process. You can select your items and get a preview of the materials you will receive.
You can select multiple items ot dismantle with one click.
Dismantling Non-Enhanced Items
Grants a base amount of Equipment Dust along with rarity-specific materials based on the item's rarity.
Dismantling Enhanced Items
In addition to the base amount returned, you will receive 50% of the Equipment Dust and rarity-specific materials used for enhancement (rounded down).
Refinement copies are not recoverable, as refinement is handled separately.
Enhancing
You can find equipment pieces that are already on a certain level. The "Enhance"-section gives you possibility to increase equipment level. The higher the level, the better attributes and perks they have.
To enhance items you need crafting materials. You can get them by dismantling unwanted equipment, you can find them on adventures by completing stages in the regions, you can buy them at the Black Market or get them as rewards by completing quests.
When enhancing an equipment piece, you will increase its level by one. However, you cannot upgrade them endlessly. After a certain point, you will need cinder - a rare item - to unlock new levels on the equipment piece.
Enhancing Unique & Set Items
While perks and attributes can improve through enhancing, the perks on unique and set pieces remain unchanged, as their perks increases with rarity, which can be enhanced through refining.
Enhancement Breakpoints
Every third enhancement, you will eventually reach a breakpoint, requiring Cinder to unlock the next enhancement stage. Each breakpoint also provides a boost to all standard perk values.
Upon reaching the final breakpoint, the item will receive its highest and last perk value boost. At this stage, it will be marked as fully enhanced, with no further upgrades possible.
Refining
Refining equipment upgrades its rarity, increases the number of perk slots, and improves the quality of existing perks. All five equipment types—Weapon, Armor, Headgear, Talisman, and Ring—can be refined.
To refine your equipment to a stronger version, you need duplicates of the same equipment piece. You need three of the same version with the same rarity. Refinement view also displays future stats.
If currently you do not own 3 pieces of the same equipment and rarity, they will be greyed out. Once you have the needed amount they become highlighted and you can refine them.
However, normal equipment, that are not uniques or part of a set, can only be refined twice, allowing for a maximum of two rarity upgrades.
Once an item reaches its refinement limit, it cannot be upgraded to a higher rarity.
- Example: Rare ⇢ Epic ⇢ Legendary
Refinement Potential Bars
Equipment pieces now display their refinement potential above their level on the item icon, represented by 3 Refinement Potential Bars.
These bars fill up as the item undergoes refinement, indicating its progression. When all three bars are full, the item has reached its maximum refinement potential. If no bars are filled, the item has not yet been refined in its current state.
- Example: A rare Pumpkin Helmet from the Pumpkin set has three empty bars, representing its potential progression from Rare to Epic, then Legendary, and finally Mythic. If the item were uncommon, it could only be refined up to Epic and no further.
Refining Results
- Refining 3 uncommon items will give you a rare item.
- Refining 3 rare items will give you an epic item.
- Refining 3 epic items will give you a legendary item.
