In stages and dungeons you will encounter waves of enemy units. Beat all enemies without loosing all of your own units to win.
Action Points & Turns
The combat system uses an active turn based system (ATB) combining turn based combat with realtime strategy.
Every unit has an action point bar (AP bar) below their hitpoints bar that slowly increases. When the AP bar is fully loaded, the unit will have its turn and can take action.
How can I influence the turn order?
The speed in which the AP bar loads is influenced by a units agility attribute (AGI).
Some units are naturally faster than other units, but you can use status effects to make your own units faster or enemy units slower. You can even prevent them from moving at all with skills that deal AP damage.
You can also use equipment in the tavern to increase your units AGI attribute.
Here is a small preview of your selected equipment.
Skills & Cooldowns
When your unit's turn, you can select one skill to be performed per turn.
You can inspect skills by holding the skill button pressed.
Passive Skills
Some units have passive skills, which activate on their own.
Passive skills will activate automatically when their condition is met. These can also activate outside of your active turn allowing for interruptive abilities.
Cooldowns
Some skills have cooldowns, which can also apply to certain passive skills.
After using a skill with cooldown, it won't be available for a few turns. Make sure to use your skills at the right time to get the best results.
Each unit has at least one skill without a cooldown that can always be used. This is its primary skill on the left side of your available skill buttons.
Health & KO
Each unit has hitpoints (HP). When a Unit goes down to 0 HP, they will go into a KO state and can't fight anymore for this stage. If this happens in dungeons, your unit will remain unavailable until the end of it.
If all your units are KO, you will loose the fight. Don't worry though, you can try again and your units will automatically recover after a stage or dungeon is completed.
How Can I Prevent Units From Going KO?
You can use support units to heal status effects and recover HP. Some units can even revive units that are KO. You could also use defensive units that prevent damage or even shield other units.
You can also find items in dungeons that allow you to heal your units.
Elements & Targets
Each unit has exactly one element, and all of its skills will deal damage of that elemental type. Each element has advantages and disadvantages to other elements.
The little indicator in fights will show you if your attack will have an advantage, disadvantage or be neutral.
- Advantage: You will deal 25% more Damage and have a higher chance of critical hits.
- Neutral: You will deal regular Damage.
- Disadvantage: You will deal 25% less Damage and have a chance to miss.

Targets
Your units will automatically select a target based on how effective their elemental advantage is.
You can of course select another target during a turn to adjust your strategy. Some skills even hit multiple targets, but to keep things simple, you just need to select the primary target for it to hit everybody.
Status Effects
Some skills can cause status effects which has two categories:
- Buffs: Positive Effects
- Debuffs: Negative Effects
You can see how high the chance of inflicting status effects is by checking the skill.
The final chance is influenced by the targets resistance (RES) and the casters accurary (ACC), aswell as the elemental advantage.
Duration
Most status effects have a duration in turns after which they will automatically expire. Some status effects, however, will have stacks instead and won't naturally resolve.
How Can I Influence Status Effects?
There are many ways to deal with status effects. You can adjust your attributes with buffs and equipment to either increase the accuracy or resistance.
You can also use skills to dispel debuffs or even steal buffs from your enemies. Some buffs like immunity can even be used to protect your units from status effects for a few turns.
Auto & Speed Mode
After completing the tutorial, the Auto and Speed Mode options become available on the top right corner during combat.
Auto Mode
Auto mode will automatically select skills for your units when they have their turn. Units have a predefined behaviour that will select skills and make sure to cast them efficiently. This is useful for farming but be aware that you should not use them for tough battles as you can get a better result by selecting your targets manually and perfectly time your skill cooldowns to get an edge over your opponents.
Speed Mode
Speed mode allows you to increase the combat speed for a faster experience. Be aware that if you play fast you could miss details like status effects on your heroes.
Skipping Adventures
Once you have completed a dungeon stage and you own hourglasses you can use those to skip combats. If you want to save time it is recommended to use adventure skips to collect resources quickly.
